Førdefestivalen has a new marketing and communications manager. Kristine Eriksrød is in place – and will get more people to discover the festival and make the path from “this looks exciting” to “I have to join” a little shorter.

Kristine Eriksrød started as marketing and communications manager in Førdefestivalen September 1. She has a background in marketing and strategic communications, including from Sparebank 1 Sogn og Fjordane and Compass Group.

Now she will use her experience at a festival she believes has a lot to play for.

Førdefestivalen has something many brands wish they had: a strong history, a clear identity and experiences you actually can't get anywhere else.

– At the same time, I think we have great potential in showing even more people what the festival is today, and why they should be a part of it, says Kristine.

More people should open their eyes to Førdefestivalen

As Marketing and Communications Manager, Kristine will be responsible for marketing, communications, press work, digital platforms and collaboration with the festival's partners.

One of her goals is to reach more of those who know about the festival, but who have not yet found their way in.

– Of course, we should take good care of those who are already happy. Førdefestivalen . But I also want to reach those who might think that the festival isn't quite for them. I think many would be surprised if they knew how much variety actually happens during those days.

She doesn't think the solution is necessarily that Førdefestivalen should shout louder.

– We need to get better at showcasing what we have. The people, the music, the dance, the atmosphere and all the slightly unexpected encounters that occur during the festival. We have an incredible amount of good content, and I want more people to see it.

Forward Førdefestivalen

Kristine lives by herself. Førde , but experienced Førdefestivalen for the first time as late as this summer. It gave her a new perspective on what happens to the city when the festival takes place.

– It's actually quite special. artists and the audience comes Førde from all over the world, and some days things are happening everywhere. I want more people who live here to feel like they want to be a part of it.

At the same time, she is concerned that the development will take place on Førdefestivalen its premises.

We will not be anything other than Førdefestivalen .

– We have strong roots and a history we should be proud of. But we can challenge ourselves in how we communicate that, where we meet people and what we do to bring new audiences in.

And after the first hour on the job?

– I've already realized that it won't be boring. It suits me very well.
