Ladama
Latin alternative Ladama music!
LADAMA is a group of four women, virtuoso musicians – Lara Klaus, Daniela Serna, Mafer Bandola and Sara Lucas – from different countries and cultures in the Americas. They are sisters in song, rhythm and spirit. They use the music of their homelands, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and the Netherlands. All four use both folk and other instruments, adding a dose of modernity when performing their Latin-alternative music.
In 2017 they released the self-titled album LADAMA. The album was very much 'of the time', when both Latin America and the USA were hungry for projects that could push some boundaries and defy established norms. Their debut album was a musical and cultural journey through Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and New York. All music is signed by the four in the band, and takes the pulse of the myriad of multi-American traditions and rhythms, well mixed into a unique and fresh expression. Here you get cumbia, maracatu, onda nueva and joropo - with a touch of soul, R&B and pop, in what will become a unique LADAMA style.
