Vera & Martin | Norway

Vera Sonne sang her way into many hearts around the world when she sang at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony last November, accompanied by Martin Steinum Brun on the lyre. Now we can look forward to hearing them again at our own peace concert! 

Vera Sonne is a singer and songwriter from Oslo, best known as the frontman of Pumpegris, the Norwegian folk fusion band that had great success in 2025, both in terms of the number of hits for their debut album Fritids and the amount of praise they received after concerts! In her lyrics, Vera combines humor and improvisation. She is active in several genres, but has her singing background from her folk music studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music.  

Martin Steinum Brun, a singer and traditionalist from Vågå in Gudbrandsdalen, also attended. Like Vera, he has a foot in several musical environments, and loves to convey absurd and humorous stories through his music. Martin is a skilled musician on the kravikljre and bygdeharp. He was named Young Folk Musician of the Year in 2024.
