HÅKON HØGEMO / SIGRID MOLDESTAD / EINAR MJØLSNES - OLD AND NEW
TOUR PERIOD: 6-11 APRIL 2021
Håkon Høgemo / Sigrid Moldestad / Einar Mjølsnes
OLDNEW
- raw and real, on five-string Harding fiddles
The country's rawest Hardanger fiddle trio is reborn! The trio that grew up in folk music collector Arne Bjørndal's archive in Bergen, and who indulge in whiskey-marinated pipe tobacco and Napoleon cake during breaks, is back with new tones. Just as intense, dark and raw as the time they received the Spellemann Prize for their first (and to date, only) album. They are all well-established musicians: Håkon Høgemo is one of our foremost Hardanger fiddle players. Known to many from the group Utla with Karl Seglem and also as a solo player and important teacher to many. Sigrid Moldestad is known for both her solo albums, her band and from the theater stage, while Einar Mjølsnes is a former county musician in Hordaland and has played on countless albums and projects in his career. Together they formed a trio of 5-string Hardanger fiddles, inspired by the old Hardanger fiddle trio Sigbjørn Bernhoft Osa, Eivind Groven and Alfred Maurstad who began their collaboration in the early 1930s.
Now they are hitting the road again with a small tour of the west coast in the new county.
