Saturday, November 23rd rolls around Førdefestivalen once again rolls out the red carpet, inviting young and old to the 10th anniversary of Borna's World Days Førde "It's fantastic that we've been able to keep up this colorful family festival for so long," says acting director Sølvi Lien , who is really proud to once again be able to present great workshops and activities for children.

The idea behind Bornas Verdsdagar is that children of all ages will experience song, music and dance through participation. This year, children will get to try out the accordion, tabla and African drums. There will be two dance workshops; one with hula dance from Hawaii and rhythm dance from Tahiti, and one with capoeira from Brazil. For the youngest children, there will be a song workshop, where we sing and learn local folk songs and dances. One of the workshops is the fairy tale cave at the library, and here children can calm down with exciting fairy tales from different parts of the world. There will also be theatre, when Sogn og Fjordane Theatre shows the story theatre about the boy who went to the North Wind and demanded his flour back.

Professional instructors

It is free to attend the workshops, which are led by professional instructors. No one needs to sign up, just show up outside the room where the workshop is taking place. -Each workshop lasts about 20 minutes, and this year we have set up fixed starting times for the various workshops. Then it may be easier for adults to plan their day, says Lien, adding that it is of course possible to attend the same workshop several times.

The instructors are artists and practitioners who have extensive experience in communicating with children of various ages. Several of them have held workshops at Bornas Verdsdagar Førde previously, and is really looking forward to coming back.

They will decorate the singing workshop for the youngest children.
