Director and artistic director of Førdefestiven, Per Idar Almås, is stepping down after almost four years in the position. It is at his own request.
- For four years I have had the pleasure of running one of the largest festivals in Norway together with a very talented staff. The last two years have been very challenging, but Førdefestivalen has come through the most demanding period in modern times for the cultural industry. This spring, hopefully, society - and cultural life - will return to normal, and I think the time is right for a change. Now I want to move on to new projects, and try my hand at other arenas in cultural life. I am moving on, and a new leader will take over, says Per Idar Almås. - The focus now going forward is on the implementation of the fantastic festival we have been planning for the last few months.
Almås will work in Førdefestivalen until over the summer, until a new leader is appointed. -The board of Førdefestivalen immediately start the recruitment process to find a new director in place during the spring, says Chairman Arne Osland.
