Many thanks to all the audience, volunteers, partners, artists , weather gods and the entire county. Thanks to your brilliant efforts and great support from all of you, this year's festival was an adventure from start to finish!

Two main themes were at the centre Førdekonferansen 2015: The place of volunteering in cultural life and the role of festivals in society.

In prime time, NRK showed this year's opening concert from Førdefestivalen Sigrid Moldestad led the concert, where approximately 2,000 audience members were able to experience artists and groups such as FRIKAR, Fiddlers Bid, Unni Løvlid and the duo Catrin Finch & Seckou Keita.

- We need cultural diplomacy. On Førdefestivalen artists, the volunteers and the public get a role as bridge builders, said State Secretary Bjørgulv Borgundvaag when he opened Førdefestivalen tonight.

This year's festival film is the French/Mauritanian film "Timbuktu".

Every year, 350 volunteers join the team when the world comes to an end. Førde The volunteers work with everything from being artist contact, helping backstage, selling tickets to cooking in the volunteer kitchen.

Julie Fowlis, who was supposed to be part of the Vocal ConneXions theme project at the festival, has unfortunately had to cancel due to illness.

Dancing was pure dope for me for many years, I just had to have it! And it's not that dangerous, because dancing is a truly healthy "dope" - both for body and soul. And the dance floor is also an incredibly good testing arena!

Award-winning artist and composer Janusz Prusinowski is a true superhero. He has saved traditional mazurka music from a slow death and an undeserved bad reputation.

Ever since I started playing music, the meeting has been important. The discovery that folk music had such social bonuses, both locally and internationally, has been the fuel in my fiddler's heart ever since.

-The opening concert has a fantastic artist list, professional production and the perfect hostess. At NRK, there has been nothing but enthusiasm in the process leading up to the decision to broadcast the concert to viewers in our very best broadcast time: Saturday evening on NRK 1.

This year's festival program includes many events that are free to the public. New this year is that the Morgonstund har gull i munn concerts on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are also free for everyone.

The music from the green islands in the west of the sea sounds good to Norwegian ears. Irish folk music is perhaps the most popular in this country, apart from our own. On Friday evening, the festival invites you to a rare party evening at Festplassen. And winks at the people of Florø with a proposal: Bus to and from!
