Fargana Qasimova Ensemble
Great vocal splendor and spiritual mugham passion.
As the daughter of the world-renowned singer Alim Qasimov ( Førdefestivalen 2005), Fargana grew up with passionate mugham singing and traditional, spiritual songs from traveling poets and musicians. With her father as a teacher, including by accompanying Fargana on his tours, she has developed her own musical expression and begun her own singing career in full swing.
This is the classic story of a father-daughter transmission of a great song tradition. Their music has the same roots, but with her adventurous voice, Fargana lifts the music into her own time and creates her own personal expression. Here, all you have to do is close your eyes and let the song take you far to the east somewhere – or into yourself.
In collaboration with the Aga Khan Music Initiative, a program of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture.
