Molsky's Mountain Drifters

US

American fiddle master with music from the Appalachians

Grammy-nominated Bruce Molsky is one of the leading fiddle players in the United States. He plays fiddle, banjo and guitar, and is also a good singer. Molsky collaborates with musicians all over the world, including in Norway. Here he has played with ma Annbjørg Lien and Ånon Egeland.

In his latest project, Molsky's Mountain Drifters, Bruce Molsky cultivates his love of the folk music of the Appalachian Mountains – a mountain range that stretched 1,900 km from Quebec in Canada to Alabama in the USA. In Molsky's Mountain Drifters, he has brought along Allison de Groot, who also loves American "old-time music". She is known for her two own groups, The Goodbye Girls and Oh My Darling , which have toured the major folk music festivals in Europe. Just like Bruce Molsky, she is addicted to collaboration, and to renewing and refreshing traditional expressions.

The third musician in the trio is Stash Wyslouch, a representative of the young generation in American bluegrass. He started his music career in metal bands, but soon found himself as a member of the roots band The Deadly Gentlemen. With eminent guitar playing and vocals, and a dose of punk metal in his blood, he adds an extra pulse to the trio.

Molsky's Mountain Drifters gets the honor of playing the very first concert at the new Club Stage in Førde , at Scandic Sunnfjord Hotel & Spa!
