Julie Fowlis

'If the snow could sing, it would sing like Julie Fowlis…'

.. this is how the clear voice of Julie Fowlis is described by nature writer Robert Macfarlane

Julie Fowlis is one of Scotland's truly great singers, with a career that ranges from solid studio albums to truly prestigious collaborations and her own radio and television shows on several channels. She is perhaps best known for singing the title track to the Disney Pixar film BRAVE (2012), which won both an Oscar and a Golden Globe. Julie Fowlis is a proud custodian and tradition bearer who is at the forefront of preserving Gaelic cultural heritage.

'sublime, magical
— FolkRadio 2022

Musically, Julie Fowlis has deep roots in the Hebrides where she grew up, but is also inspired by the nature of the Scottish Highlands, where she now lives. She is just as happy to play on small village stages as in Carnegie Hall in New York and at the opening and closing ceremonies of major international televised championships. On Spotify, her voice has been streamed more than 150 million times.

With Julie Fowlis on stage, you will be treated to the finest of Scottish folk vocals, backed by a rock-solid band with some of the finest instrumentalists in Scotland.

Julie Fowlis played on Førdefestivalen in 2011 and we are incredibly proud to finally have her back!
