Nobody gets you in a better mood for play than the Cartel!
The dancers in Kartellet offer weird tricks, fiddle playing on stilts, crazy folk dancing and fun rules. The title and the rules are a rhythmic game, and they want to share with the world that the weird, fun game is worth its weight in gold. Kartellet hopes to inspire people to play more in their everyday lives, maybe even dance!
'An dran drin drekt. Kontra both five and six. Bom bam dutri dam. Silkemaga, buldrikaka. Ditt om. Pøk utav.' This is an incomprehensible rule that is known from Grytøya and Vesterålen in Northern Norway.

About the Cartel:
Kartellet was originally a dance performance initiated and choreographed by Sigurd Johan Heide, and with newly composed music by Mariann Torset. Now the dance company and Kartellet A/S are established and have created 4 full-scale performances since 2012: Kartellet (2012), Kan du komme ned og hente meg? (2016), Makalaus (2021), Can you come down and fetch me again – snow edition (dance film) (2021), Danse staur, danse staur (2021) and An dran drin drekt (2021). In addition, Kartellet has participated in larger concert productions at, for example, Northern Jazz Expo 2015, Northern Expo 2018, Barents Bird, Festspillene i Nord-Norge and Kalottspel.
Kartellet won the Critics' Award 2016 for the dance performance DoPPler. They were festival profiles at the Northern Norway Festival 2016 and received the Troms County Culture Award 2016 together with artistic director Sigurd Johan Heide.
