Local dance moves from Jølster and Breim
Since its establishment in 1969, Fjellklang Spelemannslag has been a popular fixture at old-time dance parties, competitions and festivals. The group was formed on the initiative of Johannes Befring, and was for many years led by folk song composer Lars Fjell. Fiddle master John Oddvar Kandal from Breim has been central and today it is Jon Gåsemyr who takes on the role of musical director.
Fjellklang aims to maintain traditional music on Jølster and Breim, and is one of the local fiddler groups that regularly plays for dancing on Førdefestivalen . Here they always perform with sharp fiddle notes and an excellent selection of dance tunes by famous fiddlers like Anders Viken and several with the surname Paulen. These are dance beats of the best kind!
