Haakon Hemmer - Hallingline | Norway

Hallingdansar on a straight line

In the performance Hallingline Håkon Hemmer combines halling dance with straight line balancing. Håkon has a background in modern circus, parkour and dance, and is deeply fascinated by the power and expression of halling dance. We can promise that this will be an exciting performance.

Håkon Hemmer from Oslo is a circus artist with a discipline called line dancing. After many hyperactive years with breakdancing, taekwondo and parkour, Håkon Hemmer finally found a 'slightly' calmer activity, namely line dancing. When he started line dancing, he began to cultivate what he himself calls an understanding of inner peace. - I became interested in line dancing because I saw many similarities with circus, and immediately saw the possibility of mixing line dancing and line dancing.

Hemmer quickly realized that hallingdans is about much more than showing acrobatic dancing to fiddle music. Hallingdans has great cultural and historical significance in Norway, and is a fantastic form of expression. He decided to do a thorough job of merging halling and line dancing, and the result is the performance Hallingline .

For children who want to try their hand at tightrope walking, Håkon holds a Circus Walking course on Friday afternoons.
