Hått | Norway
"Loud" old-fashioned dance from the east
Since 1997, the trio Hått, with Per Anders Buen Garnås, Anders Røine and Nils Øyvind Bergset, has delivered first-class dance performances based on round dance songs in the Hardanger fiddle tradition. The repertoire primarily revolves around songs from Numedal, Valdres and Telemark, and most of it belongs to an old and unique type of round dance from the first time when Norwegian village dances and village fiddlers met impulses from Europe.
Hått is known for having its own style in terms of melody, rhythm and the way they build up their songs. In the early years, Hått made a name for themselves at national festivals in old-fashioned dance and have since been in demand for both dance events and festival concerts. In 2009, they released their first album. This year, 17 years later, the follow-up is coming, and on Førdefestivalen This year you can once again sway to the driving, good dance music of Hått.
