Guitarist and ngoni player with a unique playing style

The guitarist, ngoni player, composer and producer Olav Torget , who is now also a university lecturer at the Norwegian Academy of Music, has a unique and creative playing style. The style has been developed through many years of collaboration with, among others, many African musicians and long musical stays on the African continent. You can find him in the trio Assû, together with Ulla Pirttijärvi and Kenneth Ekornes, and with the latter he also plays regularly in Kristin Asbjørnsen's band.

Olav Torget worked for a long time with the kora player Solo Cissokho, who died in 2017. In 2025 he released the album Solo , with recordings he made with Solo Cissokho in Sofienberg church in 2003, which had not been published before. On Førdefestivalen dolls Olav Torget appeared as a guest at Seckou Keita's anniversary concert. Keita is the nephew of Solo Cissokho.
