The Face of God
- Ernst Reijseger & Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei
The Face of God is a collaborative project between Ernst Reijseger and Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei, in which historical and religious music from Sardinia is renewed with revolutionary cello tones. This performance combines Dutch cellist Ernst Reijseger's film music for Werner Herzog's cinematic visionary works, and combines it with the polyphonic song of the group Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei.
Reijseger is a renowned musician and composer, crossing genres with his creative musical interpretation. He is not only a musician, but a storyteller who, through various projects, conveys a range of artistic expressions. With a passionate affinity for his instrument, he is both an improviser and an innovator.
Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei originates from the mountainous landscape of Sardinia and performs with both heart and intensity the sacred tones of the area. The music represents brotherhood and closeness to God. This tradition has been inherited and is today preserved by this passionate group from Italy. They have previously been on Førdefestivalen , in 2015, and then played with Mongolian musicians on top of Hafstadfjellet in the collaboration Nomadic Voices.
The Face of God is a sacred and heartfelt concert where the meeting of the ancient and religious meets new melodies from the steady cello.
