Volunteers - experience the festival from the inside

Every year, 350 volunteers join the team, and our fantastic volunteers mean EVERYTHING to us. Førdefestivalen ! The effort they put in before, during and after the festival creates a magical atmosphere in Førde that we want to share with the whole world. Thank you very much for joining us and making Førdefestivalen to the adventure it is! 

Why volunteer?

Because it's fun and you get to see and experience the festival from a different perspective. You'll meet a lot of people from both Norway and abroad, share the joy of the music and the festival. Volunteering is probably the best trade-off you can make.

What can I do?

Artist service

Artist Services is always bustling with activity during the festival. All logistics are arranged here, including transport of artists and equipment. Are you solution-oriented and comfortable handling and having multiple balls in the air at the same time? Then this is the job for you.

Volunteer kitchen

The volunteer kitchen is open to all volunteers who are at work. The kitchen is also responsible for backstage service at Førdehuset , and everyone who works with the productions in the sports hall.

Ticket office

For the box office we need people who enjoy the show and talking to people about what's happening at the festival. A little computer knowledge is also good. We have a box office in Førdehuset , ticket cart at Elvetorget and sells tickets at a couple of arenas outside Førde .

Artist contact

As an artist contact, you are responsible for an artist for as long as they are at the festival. You make sure they arrive at soundchecks and concerts on time, that they make it to lunch and dinner, and that they otherwise have a good time at the festival.

You can be the arena manager, be involved in stage production, rigging, security, or if you are artistic, the floral/decorative group is definitely the job for you.

  • You show up punctually for your shifts.

  • You will receive this year's festival T-shirt, which is your work attire. When you wear this, you represent Førdefestivalen . Do your part to ensure that Førdefestivalen will be a fantastic experience for the audience, guests, artists and your employees.

  • Over 4 hours = 1 free ticket

  • Over 8 hours = 2 free tickets

  • Over 12 hours = 3 free tickets

  • Over 16 hours = Employee pass or 4 free tickets

  • Over 30 hours = Employee pass and 2 free tickets

  • Food at the volunteer kitchen when you are at work

  • 50% discount on festival items

  • Volunteer party for volunteers and artists at Scandic Sunnfjord Hotel & Spa Sunday July 7th

  • Up to 50% discount on tickets to all FolkJazzScene events throughout the year

Free tickets

Employee passes provide free admission to all concerts during the festival, as long as there are available seats. 

There will be a program presentation and a joint orientation meeting for all volunteers at Førdehuset . An invitation will be sent out by email. All groups will also have their own information meeting.
