Yippee! Sunnfjord is getting its own version of the successes Tuvas Blodklubb in Oslo and Klubb Komle in Bergen, with danceable home cooking in a club format. We're launching RaspeKlubb!
The concept draws full houses in the cities. It's a mix of a crash course in folk dancing and clubbing on the dance floor – a whole evening in the company of good friends (that you haven't met yet).
You'll hear some of the best in folk music online now, a mix of traditional folk tunes and folk techno, with up-and-coming musicians on stage. Electronics meets Hardanger fiddle, accordion, mouth harp and percussion in a slightly unlikely – but surprisingly danceable – mix.
On Saturday, September 26th, Klubb Komle will come to us at Teater Vestland to present the concept, before we can continue dancing on our own. RaspeKlubb is a collaboration between us, Førdefestivalen and Indre Sunnfjord Spelemannslag .
The evening starts with a crash course in folk dancing with Marta and Ole. They will teach you some simple steps that you can take with you into the club night. Or you can just go out and dance however you want. You don't need any prior knowledge or dance partners.
The folk music club is finally coming. Førde have been waiting for, with great music you didn't know you loved to dance to.
Age limit 18 years.
