THE BUCKS SHOWER - Annbjørg Lien, Steinar Ofsdal, Arve Moen Bergset
Annbjørg Lien, Arve Moen Bergset and Steinar Ofsdal came together for the first time in 1989 to play at the opening of BI in Sandvika, each separately. Since they were together, they tried a little collaboration. It went beyond all expectations, and the rest of the story is an adventure of a career.
Steinar Ofsdal was already a well-established artist with a number of releases under his belt when the story began, but the two young people were not new either. Arve had won Spellemann in 1987 for the album Arvesølv and was featured on Dagsrevyen when he came to the voice change. Annbjørg was from an early age very skilled and driven on the Hardanger fiddle with competition wins galore and with the recent solo album Kjellstadslåttar in her suitcase.
Bukkene Bruse has released five albums, won the Spellemannpris and received the Prøysenpris. The trio toured domestically and internationally, and their music took them around the world from China to the American South. They were appointed as official Olympic musicians for the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, an assignment that took them to Atlanta, Tokyo, Barcelona and Munich together with Queen Sonja's winter exhibition, and everywhere they went they took the audience by storm.
It has now been 33 years since they first met in concert, and the years since have been full of music and various musical projects for all three musicians. Now they come to Vestland with their instrument cases full of playing joy to give us new experiences with old songs.
Annbjørg Lien – Hardanger fiddle, nyckelharpa,
Arve Moen Bergset – quintet, fiddle and Hardanger fiddle,
