Yesterday we kicked off the festival week, and it felt good! With lovely summer weather at a cloudy ten degrees, we managed to put on four concerts, an art exhibition and a movie. People and animals turned out in large numbers as the audience.
The day started in the sandbox at Solsida kindergarten in Haugum, with the duo Djønne and Børsheim and "Morgonstund har gull i munn". Everyone got to sing along, and everyone got to learn what a Hardingfele is - and how nice it sounds! And how far an accordion can stretch.

Later in the day, the mountain was put to use. "Out for a walk, never be angry", they said and went to Halbrendstølen. Here the atmosphere was so good that even the frogs sang! Even though it wasn't morning... Annlaug Børsheim, Ingemund Askeland and Mari Skeie Ljones created a wonderful afternoon for a happy, sausage-eating audience.

Early in the evening, the festival exhibition “Resonance” by Kristin Skrivevik was officially opened. Co-organizer Sunnfjord Kunstlag, had invited Susanne Svenseid, director of the Norwegian Art Associations, to say a few words about the artist and her living images. In addition, there was a mini-concert with festival artists Beatrice Deer and Evie Mark from Canada that created great excitement. The exhibition will be on until Sunday.

On Førdehuset By the end of the evening we were suddenly in Turkey, together with Café Aman Istanbul. We are looking forward to getting to know this lively group better at dance classes on Thursday and Friday!

The Spanish group Vigüela came to the Blomsterhagen restaurant in Florø. Since valuable luggage did not arrive on the plane, the musicians had to be creative to complete the concert. Pots, spoons and cola bottles were put to new uses. There was singing and music. And the menu offered a wide choice, everything from beet soup to Spanish meatballs.

In Gloppen there was Jigs Reels & beers with Mairearad and Anna from Scotland. We are very pleased to have these two seasoned musicians on the team when we had our first concert in Gloppen! May there be more with at least as good an atmosphere.
