GamaltNymalt is uncompromising in its expression, and plays dark, raw and mystical on its 5-string Hardanger fiddles. The fiddles are made by Olav Vindal and Magne Straume. The trio is inspired by the Hardanger fiddle trio Sigbjørn Bernhoft Osa, Eivind Groven and Alfred Maurstad from the early 1930s.
The trio was honored with the Spellemannpris for their debut album, 'Gamaltnymalt' (NORCD), in 2005. The following year they were a popular feature on Førdefestivalen and since then they have been in action on concert stages here and there at regular and irregular intervals. Now there are five great venues that will be visited by the popular musicians in April.
