Linda Eide - Norway
Language queen with musical ambitions
Strictly speaking, Linda Eide is in the category of 'persons who need no introduction' – everyone knows who Linda is. Nevertheless, here is a brief summary: She was a journalist and presenter on NRK radio and television for over three decades, where she developed one personal program concept after another: Norsk attraksjón, Smæsj and not least Eides språksjov, which made language into Saturday entertainment, through twelve seasons, on NRK1. Eide also writes books and stage plays, and performs what she writes herself. She has received a number of awards for her outstanding work: the Gullruten for best presenter, the Ministry of Culture's journalist award, the Riksmålsforbundets språkgledepris, the Christie Prize and the award as Årets Hordalending, to name a few.
Languages and music are two subjects we all know Linda has a knack for, and we therefore feel confident that Saturday evenings will be more than enjoyable when she gets to frolic with international and Norwegian musicians. artists on stage in the large main hall at the festival.
It is an honor to welcome you to the first ever Folk Music Language Fun with Linda Eide!
