Las Karamba - Venezuela,
Cuba, Argentina, Spain
Infectious musical joy from South America!
Amidst the chaos, traffic and stress of the busiest streets of Barcelona, Las Karamba was born in 2018. A fusion of six life stories, shaped by migration, musical heritage and sometimes oppositional family relationships. Together, the six women wanted to find strength, overcome fears and follow their dreams. At the same time as they wanted to express their great love for music, they wanted to highlight the role of women.
The multicultural band has members from Venezuela, Cuba, Catalonia, France and Argentina. They mix traditional styles such as son, cha-cha-cha, salsa and timba with elements of rap and urban music - and a touch of samba and rumba. The result is a new, powerful and infectious musical experience.
The Las Karamba ladies exude musicality and joy of playing. The interaction is close, the arrangements varied and the music captivating - whether you want to listen or be on the dance floor. Las Karamba is made for a wonderful Saturday evening in Sunnfjordsalen.
