Sara Curruchich is an energetic indigenous artist from San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala. She is a champion of her native language, Kaqchikel, and is the first to use it from a stage outside of Guatemala. Curruchich blends traditional Mayan music with folk music and rock, conveying messages of love, consciousness, respect and defense of life in all its forms. She has quickly become a highly sought-after artist on the international world music scene.
