Sinikka Langeland and Erlend Apneseth
Sinikka Langeland and Erlend Apneseth
It is great for Førdefestivalen to be able to offer VestaFolk -concerts with the two fabulous musicians Sinikka Langeland and Erlend Apneseth; she masters the kantele, the Finnish national instrument, and he our own national instrument, the Hardanger fiddle.
They are both musicians and composers who wander between folk music, jazz and contemporary music. Sinikka Langeland is known, among other things, for her interpretations of ancient runic songs and folk music from Finnskogen, and for setting Jon Fosse texts to music. Erlend Apneseth's starting point is the local folk music tradition in Jølster and Western Norway. They are both open to new expressions and new collaborations, and find great joy in challenging each other and exploring the harmony between the kantel and the Hardanger fiddle.
