True musical love

Sigrid Moldestad and Liv Merete Kroken were half of the very first student group at the Ole Bull Academy in the late 90s. They found their groove, and a lasting friendship both with and without the fiddle emerged. The Spindel duo was a fact, and made great success with their fresh interpretations of songs from Western Norway and especially Nordfjord. Years of collaboration late and early have resulted in a unique and close collaboration.

After a few very active years, with assignments in large and small formats and two album releases, Spindel (2021) and Aminje (2007), Sigrid Moldestad got busy with her solo career while Liv Merete Kroken had music as a hobby. In recent years, they have found time and space to take up the Spindel duo playing again, to the delight of themselves and everyone who enjoys good melody playing. When they marked their first 20 years as a duo, they called it a 20-year musical infatuation, but we think it is true musical love!
