Sudan Dudan

Anders Røine and Marit Karlberg in Sudan Dudan are coming on a western Norwegian tour this fall!

The Sudan Dudan duo with Anders Erik Røine and Marit Karlberg, has a loyal audience in the folk music community and far beyond. They stand firmly in traditional music through song, langeleik, fiddle and mouth harp, but also find inspiration in both country, bluegrass, desert blues and hymn singing. Sudan Dudan has existed as a duo since early 2000 and is known for a stripped-down and raw sound. Good lyrics, tight harmonies and resilient improvisation. The duo has released four albums. The latest, Heimen der ute , followed in 2018 – and was described as follows in Folkemusikk: “There are a number of good duos in the world. The best of them create a new voice from two existing ones, and often also something quite new from established formulas. Sudan Dudan has also done that.”
