2800 people visited the popular event in Førdehuset
Saturday marked the fifth Bornas World Days. Førde -the event is scheduled in Førdehuset , and in total around 2800 people came through the doors during the hours the workshops and activities were open. – The number of participants has increased every year, and we are of course delighted to receive such a large turnout, says Torill Faleide, communications manager at Førdefestivalen . – It is a joy for everyone involved in organizing, and there is no doubt that Bornas Verdsdagar is an important event for our multicultural city!
From Mayor Olve Grotle opening the colorful family festival, to the seven workshops concluding four hours later, the south Førdehuset of all ages. At the workshops they got to play the fiddle with Sigmund Eikås, dance ninja-halling with Anders Aasberg and Bollywood dance with Navreet Kaur. At the singing workshop Kari Malmanger taught songs about animals, and at another workshop Raymond Sereba introduced the little ones to African rhythms and movements.
– The workshops are a meeting of both Norwegian culture and cultures from other countries. Everyone had a good time all day and the great thing is that so many people try so many different things, says Faleide. She also highlights the international café Fargerike Førde which in recent years has been an important part of Bornas Verdsdagar. This is an exotic feature, which many appreciated. Among the children, both face measurement and hair braiding are popular activities. - This seems to be a regular occurrence for Borna's Verdsdagar Førde ; the girls love to have their hair braided, and all the children seem to love having their faces painted!
