Leader of the Storting's Family and Culture Committee opens the festival
Svein Harberg (Høgre) opens the festival.
The 27th. Førdefestivalen will be opened by Svein Harberg (Høgre), chairman of the Storting's Family and Culture Committee. The official opening will take place at the opening concert, På flukt, on Thursday 7 July at 7:30 p.m.
Svein Harberg entered the Storting in 2009, for Høgre in Aust-Agder. In his first term in parliament, he represented Høgre on the Storting's Church, Education and Research Committee. He was re-elected in 2013, and chairs the Storting's Family and Culture Committee for the four-year term until 2017.
Before his career as a politician in the Norwegian parliament, Harberg was mayor of Grimstad municipality from 2003-2007. He was also leader of Aust-Agder Høyre from 1993-2009. Svein Harberg has a background in sales and tourism, both through his own company and other companies.
