This is what we do now.

Womex CDs! Maybe we'll find something exciting to present at the festival this summer?

We are entering the first month of winter, and believe it or not, this is also a hectic time for the festival staff in Førde ! For Per Idar Almås, the new festival director, it's a lot about finding artists for the next festival, which will take place from 3rd to 7th July. This will be his first, but it will be the 30th festival. In addition to creating a program for his own festival, both the director and others will be present at several events and conferences organized by others. Here is a small overview of our activities.

The new director has just completed his first Womex, the large international music fair that was held this year in Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. It was no vacation, but rather long days with a full calendar of meetings, and evenings packed with concerts in a fantastic concert hall in the city. With us in our suitcase home, we have 100s of CDs that will now be checked out further, to see what goodies will be included on the poster for the summer.

On Thursday, November 1st, we will be participating in the important language conference Do we need Norwegian? organized by Sogn og Fjordane County Council. The conference will be held at Scandic Sunnfjord Hotel & Spa in Førde , and will lead the future of the Norwegian language.

We are also present at Oslo World, which opened yesterday in Oslo, with a fantastic concert in memory of the Palestinian artist Rim Banna who died earlier this year. Tomorrow we will participate in the language conference Treng vi Nynorsk? It will be held at Scandic Sunnfjord Hotel & Spa.
