A musical closing pill
In collaboration with Førdehuset invites Førdefesivalen to a song concert with two x Åsmund, with the surnames Nordstoga and Reistad. For more than 20 years they have delighted their audience with warm communication, warm humor and joy of playing! On stage, the duo is something in itself. They perform songs and folk tunes of various kinds – beautiful, funny, quiet and captivating. Everywhere they go they leave their mark. They are a musical talisman.
Their first duo album will be released in February 2023. The songs on the album are taken from "Tom Duley and Other Songs by Hartvig Kiran", which was released in 1962. Kiran was a poet and broadcaster, and the songbook with his translations of old American folk songs became very popular. Some of the songs are performed by famous songwriters, others have unknown origins. Some are very old, with roots dating back to the 18th century. English-language versions have been released on record by a number of American artists. Besides "Tom Doley", "Sixteen Tons" is probably the one that has left the greatest mark. Tennessee Ernie Ford's version, with the iconic clarinet intro, became a million-seller. Since then, Elvis and BB King have had the song in their repertoire. Hartvig Kiran's Norwegian sales became part of the vice wave in the 60s and 70s, and were used by ma Lillebjørn Nilsen, Lars Klevstrand and Hege Tunaal.
