Join a children's workshop with Nakibembe and you'll get to try the embaire, the Ugandan xylophone.
In Uganda they dig a large hole in the ground and place the "planks" they play on over the hole. Around it, 7-8 people can sit and play the instrument at the same time. The musicians inherited the instrument from their ancestors, and this is the only example that exists. No one knows who made it, how it was made, or what materials were used.
