You can now secure tickets for two great concerts at FolkJazzScena after Christmas. The first is with Gro Marie Svidal, who this fall has been in Tom Karlsrud's studio in Lærdal and recorded her second solo album.
Bornas World Days in Førde for the sixth time
Saturday, November 14th Førdefestivalen Borna's World Days are underway Førde for the sixth time. This is Saturday then Førdehuset is filled with fun workshops where children of all ages can frolic in colorfully decorated workshops, and learn flamenco, capoeira and fiddle playing from professional instructors, among other things.

There was a great atmosphere when Hekla Stålstrenga played on the festival night during the 2014 festival, from which these images are taken, and on Thursday, October 29th, there will be a warm reunion with the band, which has enjoyed great success primarily with its version of Ole Bremnes' song Har du fyr, but other songs have also become household names, such as Båtbygger Jo and Folketonen.

Førdefestivalen on Spanish radio
The Spanish online radio station Mundofonias was founded by the radio couple Juan Antonio Vazquez and Araceli Tzigane, and today has 62.5 million listeners worldwide. The two were back on Førdefestivalen for the second time this summer, and now in September has collected interviews and reviews in a couple of programs.

The rumor that the hub scheme was responsible for the decline in the upcoming state budget turned out to be true. With the exception of the Bergen International Festival and the Northern Norway International Festival, the government has chosen to remove direct support for 13 of a total of 16 hub festivals that currently have hub status.

FolkJazzScena opens the fall by inviting you to a concert with the duo Hallvard T. Bjørgum and Daniel Sandén-Warg, who are known for their unpolished fiddle playing and unusual musicality.

While the festival staff in Førde has been on vacation, other organizers and performers have had more than enough to do, and a couple of key folk music events are worth mentioning: the National Competition, which this year was held in Fagernes from July 19th to 26th in conjunction with the Jørn Hilme Festival, and the National Festival of Old-fashioned Dance, which took place in Lom from August 5th to 9th.
The festival staff is back
Now the entire festival staff is back in place after a long and enjoyable summer break. At first we allowed ourselves to soak up the caramel after a fantastic festival.
