Under the title "The whole world is playing in Førde ", presents the Italian travel magazine Bell'EUROPA Førdefestivalen with text and photos over 9 pages in its latest issue. The report is the result of journalist Filippo Cerrino and photographer Gabriele Croppi's visit to Førde at the anniversary festival in 2014.

In Norway, we have unusually strong trust in each other and in society. But volunteering and participation in society are changing. What is happening to our society as a consequence of this?

This year's festival course calendar includes everything from Gokarma yoga courses with Hallgrim Hansegård to DJ courses for youth, family courses in Korean percussion, and two-day courses for those who want to learn semba or Greek dance.

There is music from all over the world on the program when Førdefestivalen , one of the largest multicultural events in Norway, July 1-5, invites you to its 26th edition.

The Ministry of Culture's evaluation of Førdefestivalen as a hub festival has ended, and the conclusion left no doubt: Førdefestivalen fulfills its purposes very well and appears as an artistic leader in its field in a national context, while at the same time being able to assert itself well internationally. In other words: Førdefestivalen fulfills the hub mission with flying colors!

Linda Gytri Trio released their album Audire at the end of February, and both the press and the audience have welcomed it with open arms. Linda Gytri from Oldedalen proves to be a source of beautiful and evocative melodies, and with piano legend Timo Alakotila (JPP, Nordic Tree, Maria Kalaniemi Ensemble) and superb bassist Anders Bitustøyl (Sigrid Moldestad Band, Morten Abel Band) on the team, she has created a goodie bag for music lovers.

At the annual conference for Norwegian Festivals, which took place in Molde on February 12-13, the director of Førdefestivalen , Hilde Bjørkum, elected as new leader. Hilde Bjørkum has been deputy leader of the board in the last period, but now takes over the leadership position from Svein Eriksen.

Førdefestivalen has over the years had a close and good collaboration with Førde cultural school about instruments and equipment. Every year the festival has a job of providing some instruments for the musicians who will play.

In one of the major concert productions, the renowned folk singer Unni Løvlid from Hornindal will gather a group of prominent European vocalists to explore voice use, ornamentation, melody structure and more in European folk song.

Welcome to an energy bomb of a concert, where you will experience the well-known and beloved Norwegian children's songs and folk songs in a new guise! Ali Baba and the Little Lamb will be performed in Høyanger and Førde . 

On Friday evening during the festival, this year the stage is set for a huge Celtic folk festival in the park at Festplassen.
